Those Chicks That Fly Above Mahoro's Head When She Sleeps
« le: 16 novembre 2005 à 04:26:20 »

Does anyone have any idea what they are? You know, whenever Mahoro falls asleep during the day, yellow chicks start flying around her head and go back in when she wakes up. They seem to have absolutely no impact on the plot, but the characters acknowledge that they're there. After Suguru saw them for the first time, I thought he would later ask Mahoro what they were, but he never did. In season/series two, Minawa acknowledges that she sees "Onee-chan's chicks" when she's asleep and laughs a bit, not questioning them. So, uh, what are they? My consensus is that it's just a strange little joke that was put in that isn't really supposed to do kind of briefly bring the viewer out of suspended disbelief.

I think the chicks are supposed to be part of Mahoro's defensive system.  In the Manga, they are just refered to as "selected weapons", but they seem to work by overwhelming a percieved threat.

It just goes to show there is a lot about Mahoro that people don't know.  I'm just repeating what they say in the Manga.

I have a feeling that they originally were supposed to serve a larger role in the story, but it looks almost as if the author forgot about them.

I also use several characters from the Manga, but I use them differently (Shiori Shikijo and Yaeko Nishimura), and I just saw a expanded the drunk scene based on the current story line.  Since there are so many things that don't match up between the Manga and the Anime... well I just used what I found to best advantage.  The Anime is my autoritative source.

If I remember correctly, it's explained by the creator (in the story) of Mahoro in the last volume (no spoilers :) )

I thought the chicks were swirling around Mahoro because it was simply a stereotype for a subconscious/unconscious person like some classic cartoon shows used to do. I guess I should start reading the manga to get a full concept of this. [Only seen the TV series.]
