I have been working along on my fourth season and I have come up with a bit of a problem that I was hoping to get some input on.  When are the birthdays of the major characters in Mahoromatic.  I know we had a discussion about Mahoro's birthday a while ago and basically came up with a date sometime in the beginning of May.  We also know when Suguru's birthday is (December 21st from both the Anime and the Manga).  Rin mentions that her birthday is January first in the Manga (at the Christmas Party).

In episode 8 of the first season, Ryuga says that he was created 3 years and 8 months before that episode, which would put his birthday sometime in the second or third week of January (my bet is somewhere around January 19).

And I kind of set Minawa's birthday on July 23rd.

That still leaves several characters with unknown birthdays... specifically Miyuki (and her sisters), Hamaji, Kiyomi, Chizu and Shikijo.

I do have some ideas for Miyuki and her sisters due to the seasonal nature of their names (Miyuki is "beautiful snow"; Natsune is daughter of summer; Harune is daughter of spring; Akine is daughter of autumn).  It is perfectly possible that this might relate to the season of their birth.

If anyone else has any suggestions or ideas, I welcome them.

Although I'm pretty sure none of the other characters' birthdays were ever stated, here's something that might help with process of elimination: their birthdays would probably be marked on the calendars you see in Suguru's house, so you can probably eliminate the days you see on calendars (you see a calendar up close in two episodes; I can't remember which).

I've been through the episodes and I've found two calenders displayed.  In S1 E3 there is a calendar for July, and although there are markings on the calender other than the highlighted one (for July 19th) I don't think there are any birthday references on it.  The other was in S2 E5.  It is a December calender, but there were o entries on it.

If anyone has any logical ideas for birthdates, I would appreciate your input.  I particularly need one for Hamaji and for Miyuki at the moment.

Little side note:  The two calenders displayed, although they should be from the same year, are not.  There seems to be a two day displacement.  I guess they figured no one would ever look at them that closely

I noticed that too and mentioned it in a different thread a while back, stating that because of the conflicting calendar dates neither one can be considered canon and thus it's impossible to determine what year the series takes place in.

Though later in the manga, volume 8, I remember, they said that the president of the USA was... I believe the 45th? 44th or 45th, but that isn't necessarily the same for the anime.

I have been doing a bit of work on the question of birthdays for the characters and I've included a "Cast List" with the birthdays for a number of the characters (especially Suguru's friends).  I welcome your comments and let me know if I missed anything or have any inconsistancies.

One other thing that I did was to give the parents of the characters (only Suguru's parents are named in the story).
